Joe Devereux
Solicitor

Joe qualified as a solicitor with Dermot G. O'Donovan Solicitors in December 2022, having completed his apprenticeship with the firm. He specializes in civil litigation, public law prosecutions, landlord and tenant law, commercial law, and data protection.

 

Joe has extensive experience representing clients in litigation at all levels, including the District Court, Circuit Court, and High Court. He regularly appears before the District Court, where he advocates on behalf of state agencies such as the Child and Family Agency (TUSLA), Inland Fisheries Ireland, and the Road Safety Authority.

 

In addition to his litigation practice, Joe has experience in personal injuries litigation and representing both Landlords and Tenants in disputes brought before the Residential Tenancies Board. He is well-versed in handling complex claims and landlord-tenant matters, guiding clients through the legal process efficiently and effectively.

 

Joe also has an academic background in legal education, having previously worked at the University of Limerick, where he assisted in teaching Contract Law and Property Law. He has also taught modules on Evidence Law and Criminal Procedure to members of An Garda Síochána as part of the Bachelor of Arts in Applied Policing. Joe maintains a close relationship with the University of Limerick’s School of Law and has delivered seminars to law students on the process of qualifying as a solicitor.
